    They lied,
    claimed it took a thousand words
    to picture new flowers,
    fresh bloom.
    It only took one
    to spill innards onto
    canvas. Abstract.
    Stained tarp
    and dried paint under our nails
    is a dead giveaway.
    Hair wound tight mixes
    and swirls color till
    no-one can tell
    what’s what
